Ultrasound (A - scan) biometry

Using the appropriate probe of the ultrasound device, it is possible to perform contact biometry, which, with the previous application of anesthetic, measures the length of the eyeball, the thickness and curvature of the cornea, and the depth of the anterior chamber of the eye. Based on these data, the biometer performs a detailed calculation of the required intraocular lens for cataract surgery according to various formulas and constants.

OCT Biometrics

Our latest generation OCT device offers the possibility of non-contact OCT biometrics that provides a complete set of biometric parameters: axial length (AL), central corneal thickness (CCT), anterior chamber depth (ACD), lens thickness (LT), white-to-white ratio (WTW), pupil (P). Using this technique, it is not necessary to anesthetize the front surface of the eye and place the ultrasound probe on the eye. The data obtained by this method are often more precise than ultrasound measurement, although ultrasound biometry remains a safer method in advanced mature cataracts, where the laser often cannot "break through" and make correct measurements.

IOL Master

We are proud to point out that the Ophthalmic Center Dr. Raonić owns the IOLMaster 700 device. A biometric instrument manufactured by ZEISS, based on SWEPT Source OCT technology, which measures the key parameters of the eye necessary for the installation of intraocular lenses (IOLs). The device provides accurate and reproducible data on axial length, corneal thickness (including anterior and posterior surfaces via Total Keratometry (TK®), anterior chamber depth and lens thickness, all without direct contact.
