Focometry

A focus meter is a device that measures the strength of the diopter and the optical properties of glasses. It is also possible to measure the strength of diopters in gas permeable contact lenses.

This measurement is performed to check the diopter in the glasses worn by the patient at the first examination, as well as later at follow-ups when evaluating the stability of the diopter or monitoring the degree of progression.
