Meibomography
What is meibomography?
Meibography is a non-invasive imaging technique that uses infrared light to visualize the meibomian glands in the eyelids, evaluating their structure and identifying potential meibomian gland dysfunction (MDD). By taking pictures of these glands, which produce lipids for the tear film, meibography enables the ophthalmologist to visualize the structure and function of the Meibomian glands, i.e. determine if they are shortened, atrophied, or blocked, which helps diagnose evaporative dry eye.
At the Dr. Raonic Ophthalmic Center, you can get a reliable assessment of the condition and stability of your tear film with the analysis of Meibomian glands using the most modern equipment.
